Escape from Ginen

Escape from Ginen is a 2D side-scrolling role-playing game (RPG) for all age-groups. The story takes the player on a journey through the Island of Ginen, an interpretation of the spirit world from Voodoo lore, where well-known spirits such as Baron Samedi, Papa Legba, La Sirene, and other spirits (or Lwa, pronounced Lwah) live.

The island is alive, quite literally, with an abundance of flora and fauna, but not all the living things on the island want you there. During your wrongful banishment from the land of the living, parts and members of the island began to transform, becoming morphed and cursed versions of themselves. These cursed creatures will do everything in their power to ensure you suffer during your time outside your rightful realm.

The spirits are sometimes fickle in their desire to help, but if you're good to them, they're typically good to you in return. Earn the assistance of the Lwa throughout your journey to make sure you reach a safe return. After-all, the spirits also want you in the rightful place, as outsiders are less than welcome in their world.

As you travel through the island's various biomes, bravely entering the forest to begin your journey before traveling through caves and swamplands, be sure to defend yourself, keep an eye on your surroundings, and above all else, be on your best behavior as you never know who might be watching!
